Old Manually Operated Residential Barrier Gates

Old Manually Operated Residential Barrier Gates

Earlier this year ECI was called out to a residence in a near northwest suburb of Chicago for a barrier gate upgrade. As you can see from the photo above, the entry was protected with older gates spanning the asphalt driveway.

If you look closely there was existing electricity just to the left of the hinge post of the far gate which provided power to the old gates.

The after image below shows a Magnetic-Access locking barrier gate that replaced the manual gates above. A magnetic lock actually holds the barrier gate in the closed (horizontal) position. Thus it cannot be manually opened.

Barrier gates are available from the manufacturer in widths spanning up to 33-foot lane widths. Some manually operated barrier gates are also available in shorter lengths. There are also many optional accessories to select from.

The open and close operation is accomplished simply through handheld radio frequency transmitters. These operate like the garage door openers you and I use. A photo-electric beam (not shown) senses when a vehicle has cleared the gate. It relays the operator to close and lock the barrier bar.

To round out the turnkey installation, ECI also provided the concrete pad work, yellow bollards, electrical work and all connections.

ECI can provide turnkey installations for all of your parking access and revenue control needs whether residential, commercial or government work. This saves time and investment by dealing with a single contractor for your company, organization or your personal pocketbook.
