Boon Edam Egress Turnstiles Romeoville

Boon Edam Egress Turnstiles Romeoville

ECI recently installed five full height Boon Edam Turnlock 150 turnstiles at a location in Romeoville, IL. Two of the units allow employee access (shown below) while the other three allow egress (shown above) when traffic is much heavier. These turnstile barrier gates help optimize the traffic flow of personnel in and out of the facility while also ensuring robust security measures are in place.

Each turnstile allows one person to enter or exit at a time, at a rate of 15 to 20 per minute. This helps prevent congestion during peak hours. Users must pause to wait for their turn through each entry or exit point.

This minimizes bottlenecks and enhances overall efficiency in personnel movement. It also ensures that employees can access or egress their workplace swiftly and securely.

The Turnlock 150 seamlessly integrates with most access control systems. Each access turnstile remains locked for inbound traffic until unlocked by presenting an authorized access control credential.

The BoonTouch universal access control panel allows remote management from a reception or security desk. Each turnstile can be operated individually or simultaneously.

This interface provides real-time monitoring and control over each entry point. It enables security personnel to respond promptly to any unauthorized attempts to gain access.

Several key features enhance its functionality and performance, making it an ideal selection for your application:

  • Turnstiles are made from premium aluminum and are designed for heavy-duty use and can withstand both indoor and outdoor conditions.
  • Each turnstile operates quietly, making it suitable for environments where noise reduction is essential.
  • This model is environmentally friendly, consuming minimal energy while maintaining high operational efficiency.
  • In case of power failure, the system disengages locks and motors to allow emergency egress.
  • Integrated lights change from red to green upon authorization to provide clear visual cues for users.
  • The Turnlock 150 complies with American UL standard 294 as well as CAN/ULC standard S319

The turnstiles can be custom tailored with various finishes and features to match your facility’s design.

The optional patent-pending BE Secure overhead detection system prevents unauthorized entry.

  • It detects attempts by multiple individuals to use a single credential.
  • The anti-piggyback overhead detection system actually makes use of newly developed artificial intelligence algorithms.
  • The “walk-away” sensor determines if an authorized user did not pass through the turnstile after receiving authorization. This feature can help determine who is in your building or on your property. “It also prevents another person from entering if the authorized person stepped away from the turnstile after receiving authorization.”
