ECI was called out to this suburban location west of Chicago that needed some updating and expansion to the access parking control system. We removed some aging and obsolete barrier gates and replaced them with new updated and more efficient barrier gates. We also added barrier gates at new access points.
We used Magnetic to supply the automatic barrier gates shown above and below. We also wired in the access control devices and furnished and installed the vehicle detector loops.
Two of the vehicle detector loops are shown (see the large rectangles) in the foreground of the above image. Another is shown below at a second access/egress location.

These vehicle detector loops activate the access control devices when a vehicle approaches to gain entry and another relays the gate to open when a vehicle approaches to exit. Once a vehicle clears the area below the gate an egress vehicle detector loops relays to close the barrier gate.
These automatic barrier gates are designed to control lanes up to 12 feet in width. Gates can open and close quickly for high traffic locations. Tailgating vehicles are also detected. Gates can operate for up to 10 million opening and closing cycles.
Articulated arms are an option for low ceiling areas and breakaway flanges can completely detach the arm in case of violent collision so as not to damage the operator. Lighting options are available for the barrier arms at night. Heaters and backup batteries are also available. The operator housings are available in numerous colors (shown here in orange).
