Last month we wrote about installing Solar Powered Vehicle Barrier Gates For Triton College Field in River Grove. As part of the same project ECI was called upon to replace existing barrier gates for an executive lot and add vehicle detector loops. Pictured above is the new parking lot entry lane. The image below is that of the old barrier gate that was replaced.

We again used ELKA Barrier Gates from Q-Saq, Inc. but since electricity was already installed, there was no need for the solar powered units. We tied in the existing card reader and replaced the old black pedestal pole (as shown on the lower left). We also saw cut the concrete for the two vehicle detector loops and tied them into the barrier gate controller.

The pictures show the arm of the barrier gate once again in the closed, or down position. A vehicle detector loop senses an approaching vehicle and turns on the access control reader. The reader is shown in the foreground to the left and is protected by a previously installed bollards installed to safeguard from accidental damage. The barrier gate opens via a relay once authorized credentials are presented to the access control reader.

Pictured below is the barrier gate at the exit lane from the executive parking lot. Notice again the new saw cuts in the concrete for the vehicle detector loops.

Here a vehicle detector loop senses a vehicles presence and relays to open the barrier gate arm and allow the vehicle to exit. Once clear of the arm the barrier gate is signaled to close by the second vehicle detector loop.

Pictured below is the previous barrier gate for the exit lane.
