Earlier this year we were called to perform vehicle access control work for Davey Tree in Lombard, IL in their parking lot. We motorized an existing gate on the premises and added cellular access control. We completed the full project with all of the concrete and electrical work and exceeded the customer’s expectations.
Shown above is HySecurity’s SlideSmartâ„¢ HD25 sliding barrier gate operator. This is ideal for easily motorizing large, heavy gates. This model’s one-half horsepower motor can move gates as long as 50 feet and weighing to 2,500 pounds.
There are two additional models in this line of sliding gate operators. The fastest is the SlideSmartâ„¢ HD15F that can move a gate weighing up to 1,500 pounds. The third model is the SlideSmartâ„¢ HD30 for gates up to 3,000 pounds. Each accommodates gates up to 50 feet long.
Installation accessories are all shown in the image below. They include roller chain and gate mounting brackets, photo electric beam and edge sensor. When the beam is closed no vehicle obstructs the path and it is safe to close the gate. While closing if the edge sensor detects an obstruction (person, vehicle, etc.) the gate stops and reverses. This is called entrapment protection.
Standard back up battery power includes two 8-amp hour batteries which is rated to last up to 100 gate cycles. An option offers extended backup power of two 50-amp hour batteries. This is rated to last up to 600 cycles.
Two relays are standard with an option for eight additional relays. Each sliding gate operator is rated to last for 500,000 cycles and comes with a five-year warranty.
Please note the detail taken in the installation, concrete work and security bollards. The bollards protect against equipment damage from errant vehicles. These are not crash rated bollards. Also note the detail in the conduit installation in the top image. We take pride in our attention to detail.
