This graphic YouTube video (over a million views) doesn’t reveal the entire story about this crash test near Schiffberg (north of Berlin), Germany. The test driver, a 48 year old, was seriously injured and air lifted to a hospital after driving this short haul truck into the anti-terrorist bollard.
An unnamed entrepreneur has reportedly designed this anti-ram bollard barrier to be strong enough to respond to the recent use of trucks by terrorists in Europe. It is made from metal construction and labeled “nizzasperre” (patent pending). Some reports indicate the concrete barriers currently being used are not sufficient enough to withstand the impact and current threat.
