Wallace PDXT Folding Gates
Last week I wrote about an installation in Franklin Park, IL where we furnished and installed a series of five folding Wallace PDXT Speed Gates. Three gates were installed at the main gate location and the other two at a secondary point. The image above shows two of the folding gates.
The Wallace PDXT Speed Gates combine “speed, security and aesthetics.” Key features include a:
- system with no moving parts below grade. This is especially important to note since snow and ice accumulation in the Chicagoland area oftentimes cause havoc on other similar equipment during the winter months.
- sturdy design and customizable options that allow each to be tailored to meet various security levels.
- 7-second open and closing speed to ensure a smooth and efficient access control, while minimizing delays.
- folding mechanism, with a small footprint, to maximize the use of available space, making it ideal for confined areas.
- top track to allow integration of additional security devices to enhance security such as razor wire, anti-climb hardware and traffic lights.
- variable frequency drive that ensures smooth and consistent operation thus reducing system wear and tear.
A major range of options are available to accommodate specific site requirements and security levels:
- Customers can choose from different materials or designs to be used for the panels, or infill sections, between the structural gate frame members. Infills can range from more aesthetically focused options like decorative metal or glass for an “elegant” look, to highly secure and robust options like bulletproof materials for maximum security applications.
- Gates are available in hot-dip galvanized or powder-coated finishes. This allows them to blend in with the surrounding environment or stand out as a visible security deterrent.
- An optional battery backup system ensures continued operation during power outages.
