UIC Conduit Work for Vehicle Access Control Island

UIC Conduit Work for Vehicle Access Control Island

Last month I wrote a series of blog articles describing the extensive work ECI did at a near northwest Chicago suburban parking garage location. I highlighted the new automated barrier gates we furnished and installed.

I also provided details about single lanes we converted into reversible access and egress lanes, depending on the time and traffic. Other equipment included vehicle detector loops and illuminated directional signage.

The final article in that series was “Attention To Detail For The Newly Installed Barrier Gates”. I was so proud to show another example of our attention to detail and described how important that attention is to our organization.

I take great pride once again in writing about and showing visual proof of the importance this attention to detail is to ECI in this follow up to last week’s article entitled “Automatic Barrier Gates Replace Damaged Equipment at UIC Lot“.

Pictured above is the conduit work ECI furnished for the center island leading into UIC’s Parking Lot 9. This of course was for the vehicle access control equipment we were to install once the concrete was poured in place and cured. The orange paint shows the approximate location of the to be installed protective bollards.

Shown below once again is a collage of images of the equipment that remained after it was destroyed by the vehicle. You can see remnants of the old barrier gate operator, access control reader, the bent protective bollard and even the bent yellow stanchion (supportive end of the barrier gate arm) at the lower right.

The replacement vehicle access control and communications equipment (barrier gates and access control readers) needed repositioning and the new parking assistance module required added conduit. This meant the island’s concrete and the preexisting conduit had to be removed and replaced.

ECI provides parking access and revenue control solutions, maintains and services existing equipment as well as integrates access control systems. Call us at 847.949.0134 for your current needs or future projects. Or click below for direct contact information and to use our contact form.
