Elka P3500 Barrier Gate Shown Closed and Extended
Late last year ECI installed six ELKA P3500 Barrier Gates for the Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest (IL) Hospital parking garage. Two gates were installed at three entry/exit locations, one of which is shown above and another below.
To accommodate the low ceiling, each boom arm was articulated. The arms were also furnished with LED lighting (four red and two green) for enhanced visibility in low light conditions. Vehicle detector loops were installed in the pavement to sense vehicle entering and exiting. Access control equipment and intercoms were furnished by others.

The Elka Barriers Series Parking offers four additional models. The P3500 barrier boom extends to almost 11.5 feet. This is midway between the P2500 (8+ feet) and P5000 (16+ feet) models.
The P3500 has a longer boom arm and slightly slower operation times compared to the P2500 and P3000. On the other hand, it’s faster and has a shorter boom arm as compared to the P4000 and P5000.
