The Australian Northern Territory provides police, fire and emergency services in the area located on the northern portion in the middle of the continent. Their jurisdiction covers over 500 thousand square miles of land.

The department recently put out a request for information concerning a series of ram raids in the territory. The formal request can be viewed at “Call for information on Unlawful entries – Northern suburbs” (of Darwin) if you happen to be in their area or will be visiting soon.

Apparently a series of three ram raids occurred last week overnight at two businesses and in a shopping center. The crash and grabs occurred in the separate towns of Leanyer, Anula and Coconut Grove. Mostly liquor and cash were stolen from the locations.

One stolen Toyota Landcruiser Troop Carrier was spotted on video at two of the locations. It was seen in a ram raid on one of the locations and suspiciously cruising at another. A separate stolen Toyota Corolla was also captured on video.

The stolen vehicles were spotted but a police pursuit of the Landcruiser did not result in any apprehensions. Police are looking for information.

9 News Darwin shares videos on its Facebook page. But they show the third location as a plumbing and gas company.

You can also check out this short video at NT News of a recent ram raid at a Darwin business last year. You see the car smash through the establishment’s front doors and two masked intruders enter.

I have been writing ram raids and crash and grabs from England, New Zealand, the U.S., even right here in the Chicagoland area, as well as Australia for some time. Most of the time stolen vehicles or telehandlers are used in these types of crimes.
