Barrier Gate Staff Lot 9 Entry Loyola Maywood

Barrier Gate Staff Lot 9 Entry Loyola Maywood

We have been reporting on the extensive work ECI completed at the Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. Pictured here are additional examples of the extensive WPS Parking Access and Revenue Control System (PARCS) installed across the campus.

Above we see the entry lane to the staff parking lot #9. The barrier gate is raised once proper credentials are presented at the access control reader shown on the black gooseneck pedestal on the concrete island. Events for each card are logged into the software and reports can be generated or individual card usage detailed.

An intercom station is also available for communications to the main guard station. It can be used if the case of difficulty arising in the reading of the credentials or opening of the gate. It may even be used in case a card is not available.

Vehicle detector loops are installed in the concrete both ahead of and following the barrier gate. The first senses the vehicle as it approaches the reader and gate. Another detects when the vehicle clears the open gate. Then a relay lowers the gate to await the next vehicle.

The yellow security bollards protect the equipment from accidental damage due to an errant car.

The barrier gate and additional equipment on the opposite side of this two-lane driveway are shown to the left. Here just an intercom station is installed on the gooseneck, again in case of a malfunction. There is normal free egress so there is no need for an access control reader.

Note the additional yellow protective security bollards included at the front of the island.

This equipment is part of the WPS Parking Solutions’ system which also includes entry and exit terminals, pay on foot terminals and the software. Value pass readers, access control equipment and a Commend intercom system complete the system.
