HySecurity HD25 Slave-Master

HySecurity HD25 Slave-Master

Last year ECI was called to automate two slide gates in a southwest Chicago suburban location. We installed two HySecurity SlideSmartâ„¢ HD25 operators, shown at the far right and left in the image above, in a master/slave configuration.

You can see the cut marks in the pavement for an embedded vehicle detector loop. We also furnished electrical power and concrete pads for the gooseneck pedestal mount (seen through the gates’ meeting point and flanked by two yellow bollards) for controlled access devices and both operators.

The HD25 (closer view seen below) is a heavy-duty slide gate operator designed to move large, heavy gates with ease. Here two operators work in tandem for synchronized dual gate control.

The master and slave operators are usually connected via a communication cable. The master unit receives commands from and integrated access control devices and manages the overall operation.

The slave takes its cues from the master operator. This allows them to share information and synchronize their movements. Both gates move in unison and maintain their alignment through the cycle.

If either operator detects an obstacle via an installed entrapment device, both gates will stop or reverse, as programmed. This ensures safety across the entire entrance.

The configuration is particularly useful in wide driveways, industrial settings or any application where two gates need to operate as a single unit.

The SlideSmartâ„¢ HD series includes three models, each offering continuous duty cycle, battery backup and extensive programming options

  • HD15F is the fastest and handles gates up to 1,500 lbs
  • HD25 balances speed and power while managing gates up to 2,500 lbs
  • HD30 can accommodate gates weighing up to 3,000 lbs
