Auto Lot in Hammond Indiana
Pictured above is the entry/exit gate to an auto storage facility in Hammond, Indiana. ECI recently converted the slide gate operation from the previous manually controlled operation to one that now automatically opens and closes via access control.
This was a turnkey installation. We furnished Nice/HySecurity’s SlideSmart™ HD25 slide gate operator, the vehicle detector loops (cut marks shown in the pavement) and all safety devices. In addition, we furnished the two double-arm pedestals (for car and truck drivers), all electrical and conduit work, directional boring, concrete pads, etc.

The HD25 is equipped with a one-half horsepower motor that can move gates as long as 50 feet and weighing up to 2,500 pounds. In addition to the HD25, there are two other models available in this line of sliding gate operators:
- The HD15F is the fastest model in the line and can move gates weighing up to 1,500 pounds.
- The HD30 is ideal for heavier gates, weighing up to 3,000 pounds.
All three models can accommodate gates up to 50 feet long.
Accessories include roller chain and gate mounting brackets. A photoelectric beam and edge sensor are standard safety entrapment protection devices. When an obstruction is detected, they relay to stop and reverse the gate.
In terms of backup power, the HD25 comes standard with two 8-amp hour batteries, providing backup power for up to 100 gate cycles. An extended backup power option is also available, with two 50-amp hour batteries rated to last up to 600 cycles.
Each sliding gate operator is built to last, with a rating of 500,000 cycles and a five-year warranty. This ensures reliable performance and peace of mind for the long term.
