Rust-Oleum Front Entry Sliding Gate Operators

Rust-Oleum Front Entry Sliding Gate Operator Location

ECI did some extensive work at the Rust-Oleum location in Pleasant Prairie, WI last year. Part of the installation included installing two Linear® HSLG (heavy duty sliding gate operators) for the front entry dual gates. The entryway is shown above and the two gate operators are shown below.

Here, two gates span the wide access point. The gate operators are configured as a master and slave. The master controls the slave allowing for synchronized and safe motion. This setup allows seamless automated operation of the two gates as one combined system.

The master operator has the main control board, power supply and primary user controls. It is programmed to open first followed by the slave. Closing is the opposite, with the slave closing first, followed by the master. The slave operator is connected to the master via synchronization cables.

The HSLG slide gate operator comes in three different models, each with different capacities in terms of gate length and weight. Here are the specifications for each model:

  • HSLG-2: Maximum gate length of 35 feet and maximum gate weight of 1000 lbs.
  • HSLG-4: Maximum gate length of 45 feet and maximum gate weight of 1200 lbs.
  • HSLG-1: Maximum gate length of 55 feet and maximum gate weight of 1700 lbs.

Post mounting is standard and pad mounting is optional. The HSLG slide gate operator is compliant with UL325, which requires the use of contact or non-contact anti-entrapment devices. These safety devices can be photo eyes or edge sensors wired to the master operator.

Also notice the cut marks in the pavement where vehicle detector loops were installed. These sense when a vehicle approaches or passes. A relay is activated to the operator to open or close the gate(s).

The location is just over the Illinois-Wisconsin border. It’s about 57 miles from downtown Chicago and an hours drive time from there, of course without rush hour traffic (which is when nowadays?).
