Cellgate 410 Telephone Entry System
Last week I wrote about a new slide gate installation for Campanella & Sons, Inc. in Wadsworth Illinois. The story was entitled “DKS 9150 Operator Installed For New Slide Gate In Wadsworth.”
ECI also furnished and installed a new Cellgate W410 Advanced Telephone Entry System at the site. A station on a goose neck pedestal is shown in the image above outside the gate entrance.
The W410 is designed for commercial applications. It offers essential features such as multiple telephone number calling and voice mail intelligence so calls are not interrupted by voicemail. The gate functions can be controlled remotely via a mobile app.
The TrueCloud™ web portal allows for centralized system management of all transactions, access credentials and photos. A prop open alert signals when the gate is left open for an extended period to maintain security protocols and prevent unauthorized access.
Adding a single external camera is an option to provide visual verification of visitors and activities. Still photos are taken with every entry, exit or attempt and are stored in the cloud. Video clips, including a six second prerecord period, are stored on an SD card. A Wiegand expansion panel allows for integration with additional access control devices.
I include a better view of the two stacking photoelectric beams mounted on the gate post near the middle of the image. They act as entrapment devices to detect people or objects obstructing the closing of the sliding gate. When someone or something breaks the beam while the gate closes, the gate stops and reverses. Secondary entrapment protection devices are also required with this gate operator.
